VTU to hold NSS camps in flood-hit areas

A suggestion to this effect by VTU Vice Chancellor Prof H P Khincha was unanimously adopted by University's NSS Consultative Committee meeting here on Tuesday. This year's NSS camps will be held at flood-affected areas to provide all government facilities to the affected people.

At the meeting it was also decided to lay more stress on creating awareness on environment, health and family welfare, low-cost drainage system and rainwater harvesting at the camps. About 30 engineering colleges coming under VTU have NSS units comprising 3,000 students.

The meeting decided to hold regional- level camps at Belgaum, Mysore and Gulbarga inviting 100 to 200 students to the university.
