Apple's heartwarming holiday ad highlights AirPods Pro's hearing aid feature

Ahead of the Christmas festival, Apple has a released heartwarming ad highlighting the newly launched novel accessibility feature that turns a AirPods Pro into hearing aid.

Titled ‘Heartstrings’, it features man with hearing loss sitting on a couch, as his daughter unwrap Christmas gift. But, he struggles to hear the chitchat between the wife and the teenager.

And, he nostalgically remembers his young daughter's early days growing up and talking to her. And, then the wife reminds husband (John) to put on the AirPods Pro and listen to his daughter’s guitar music.

Once he wears it, he clearly hears the beautiful acoustic music of the guitar. 

The Apple’s heart melting holiday ad has become viral on social media. It also got the attention of SpaceX Elon Musk too.  “ It is cool” Musk replied to Apple CEO Tim Cook on X platform.

“I’m so proud of the many teams across Apple developing powerful technologies that are improving people’s lives. The Hearing Aid feature on AirPods Pro 2 uses your personalized sound profile so you can hear the moments that matter.,” said Tim Cook.

As per the latest World Health Organisation report, 1.5 billion-plus people are living with hearing loss globally.

Hearing loss worsens gradually over time, most people lead their lives unaware of the issue until it's too late. A medical-grade over-the-counter hearing aids are expensive and this is a major factor for most people to continue to live in isolation without any assistive support.

With the new update, iPhone users can perform hearing health test on AirPods Pro 2.

With new hearing aid feature, AirPods Pods (2nd gen) are touted to be the best affordable alternative to medical-grade hearing aid  in the market.

In India, a medical-grade hearing aid costs anywhere between Rs 37,000 and Rs 6.2 lakh. An AirPods Pro 2 (review) costs less than Rs 25,000.
