Google Pixel 10 teaser takes a potshot at Apple's smart Siri launch delay

While taking a dig at Apple, Google has asked prospective buyers to either change the meaning of 'soon' or get the new Pixel 10 series phone

With two weeks left before the Pixel 10 launch, Google has mocked Apple for the delay in launching a new and smarter Siri digital assistant for its devices.

The Pixel 10 series teaser message reads, 'Get outside of your comfort zone,' and displays '8.20.25,' the launch date of the device. In the video, Google has incorporated the popular soundtrack of Dr. Dre's music-- The Next Episode featuring Snoop Dog, Kurupt and Nate Dogg.

The interesting thing is that Apple acquired Dr Dre and Jimmy Iovine's audio wearable company 'Beats Electronics' for $3 billion in 2014.

In the clip, Google says--" If you buy a new phone because of a feature that's coming soon. But it's been coming soon for a full year. You could change the definition of 'soon' or you could just change your phone. Ask more from your phone."

It took a direct dig at Apple's new-gen AI-powered Siri, which was supposed to come in 2024, and as per the latest reports, it has been further delayed to 2026.

So, Google is pitching its Pixel 10 as the next best thing that can offer an advanced gen AI-powered Gemini Live chatbot, which can understand queries in text, image, audio and video format.

Google Pixel 10 series: What we know so far

Like the Pixel 9 series, Google is expected to launch the Pixel 10 with four variants - a standard Pixel 10, a top-end Pixel 10 Pro, a Pixel 10 Pro XL with a bigger display and an ultra-premium Pixel 10 Pro Fold on August 20.

All four Pixel 10 models are expected to come with Google's proprietary Tensor G5 chipset. It promises to deliver lag-free performance and be able to run generative Artificial Intelligence features such as Gemini Live and computational photography tools such as Magic Editor, smoothly.

The Pixel 10 Pro Fold is expected to have more durable build materials and will also feature an IP68 rating, a first for a foldable Pixel series phone to date.

It will be able to survive an accidental fall in a water body like a swimming pool for up to a depth of 1.5 metres (around five feet) for close to 30 minutes.

Also, new Pixel 10 series phones are expected to get improved and brighter display panels compared to the previous iterations. Also, the Pixel 10 Pro Fold will get a bigger battery than its predecessor.

Besides the new Pixel 10 series phones, Google is also expected to unveil the Pixel Watch 4. It is said to come with improved health tracking capabilities and deliver longer battery life.

And, Google is also expected to bring the new generation Pixel Buds series premium truly wireless stereo (TWS) earphones.
