Ban on protests at Chittaranjan Circle

The Udupi district administration has banned protests, public meetings and other such programmes at Chittaranjan Circle in the town.

The move has been taken up from the viewpoint of public convenience and smooth movement of traffic.

“Chittaranjan Circle is situated in the heart of Udupi town. There is a Mescom office, the head post office, the Government College for Women, the Gandhi Hospital and the Krishna Mutt in the vicinity of Chittaranjan Circle. Protests and public meetings at the Circle has been creating inconvenience to vehicle users as well as to other road users,” said Deputy Commissioner Priyanka Mary Francis.

The officer further said that the public organisations should make use of the Satyagraha Katte in front of the District Offices Complex for public meetings and protests.
