BJP, Congress in war of words after French judge appointed to probe Rafale deal

Last Updated 03 July 2021, 12:19 IST

Soon after a French Judge opened criminal investigation into Rafale deal with India, war of words has started between Congress and BJP leaders.

Slamming the Centre on the Rafale deal, Congress’ Randeep Singh Surjewala asked, “Will Prime Minister Modi allow Joint Parliamentary Committee investigation now?” “French website 'Mediapart' has made public all the evidence in the Reliance-Dassault deal. Modi Govt and 'sweetheart' deal (Rafale Deal) is clear now. Will Prime Minister Narendra Modi allow Joint Parliamentary Committee investigation now?” said Surjewala.

Giving a befitting reply, BJP Spokesperson Sambit Patra called Congress a synonymous of lies and myths. “Congress is synonymous with lies and myths. Today they lied about Rafale deal, again. If a country's (France) NGO (Sherpa) complains against a charge and its financial prosecution body orders a probe accordingly, it should not be seen as corruption,” said Patra.
