<p>Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy on Thursday said his government was committed to the overall development of North Karnataka region and promised to take appropriate steps to redress the issue of regional imbalance.</p>.<p class="bodytext">Speaking to reporters, he thanked all those who opposed the North Karnataka bandh call given by some organisations on Thursday, demanding separate statehood.</p>.<p class="bodytext">“My government is committed to the overall development of the state. The issue of regional imbalance will be redressed by implementing specific programmes,” he said.</p>.<p class="bodytext">He also appealed to people not to give any scope for misleading on the demand for separate statehood.</p>
