JOIN USWinnability basis for seat-sharing: Siddaramaiah
Coalition Government Coordination Committee chairman Siddaramaiah noted that winnability would be the basis of seat-sharing between Congress and JD(S) for the Lok Sabha elections in the State and not the number of seats to be given for each party.
"The discussion about seat sharing is still in its preliminary stage, and we have not discussed it with JD(S) chief H D Deve Gowda. One more meeting of the KPCC election committee would also be conducted in a couple of days. We will announce the candidates before the model code of conduct comes into force," he said, reiterating that nobody is a beggar in the issue of seat-sharing in the coalition government.
He told media persons here on Thursday that there is no proposal to invite Priyanka Gandhi to contest from Karnataka in Lok Sabha elections.
Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi are now focusing on Uttar Pradesh. Based on their availability, they would be invited for campaigning in the State. We are ahead of BJP in campaigning, while BJP has also not yet announced the list of its candidates, Siddaramaiah noted.
Narendra Modi would not become the prime minister again, as there is a strong anti-incumbency factor against his government. Modi did not fulfill his assurances given before the elections, while his government has failed in all sectors. Congress Party chief Rahul Gandhi is the next prime minister, he added.
