AAP MLA Dinesh Mohaniya received a hero’s welcome in his constituency after the party went public with the sting targeting BJP leader Sher Singh Dagar, who allegedly offered Rs 4 crore to the AAP legislator.

Over a hundred party workers gathered at the office of the AAP MLA from Sangam Vihar.
“We lauded him for his bravery. He faced substantial threat to his life,” AAP worker Shaleen Mitra said.

Mitra said party workers from several South Delhi constituencies like Chattarpur, Mehrauli, Ambedkar Nagar and Deoli thronged the office of the AAP MLA on Monday evening.
According to the Aam Aadmi Party, the sting proved that the city BJP was trying to make Aam Aadmi Party  MLAs resign.

In the video clip released by AAP, Dagar is heard asking Mohaniya to offer his resignation and abstain in case of a trust vote.

AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal said Dagar wanted the “custody” of Mohaniya till the floor test in the Delhi Assembly.

“He (Mohaniya) was getting phone calls till we announced our press conference,” Kejriwal said.

Kejriwal has now told the Sangam Vihar MLA and party worker Vivek Yadav, who also helped in the sting, not to get involved in the matter any further.

Threat to life

“Mohaniya faced a threat to his life, so he didn’t meet Dagar again,” Kejriwal said, adding that the AAP MLA was promised token money on Monday.

Mitra said the “brave” party leader is busy spending time with his family and involving himself in daily chores.

“He faces a threat, but he has decided not to take police security,” the party worker said.
