One killed as bike hits flyover parapet

A 21-year-old youth was killed and his friend injured after they fell off their bike.

The motorcycle collided with the parapet of the Mysuru Road flyover in the early hours of Wednesday.

Deceased Khaleel Shamshir, was a resident of Hosa Guddadahalli. Injured Sarfaraz has been admitted at the Victoria Hospital and is out of danger.

Police suspect that Shamshir was riding in a rash and negligent manner when he lost control and collided with the flyover’s parapet. Shamshir sustained severe head injuries and died on the spot. Sarfaraz, who was lying injured, was rushed to the hospital by a few passersby.

According to the police, the accident occurred around 5 am when the duo was heading to City Market mosque for prayers.

Shamshir, a native of Uttar Pradesh, had come to the city to sell ready-made garments. Along with Sarfaraz, he had opened a shop. They were living in a rented house in Hosa Guddadahalli, the police said.

The Chickpet traffic police have taken up a case and are investigating further.
