Lokaykuta Inspector Uday Naik, Sub Inspectors Lakshmikanth and Dilip Kumar carried out the operation and caught the officer while accepting bribe. It was said that Art teacher of Kadaba Government PU College Gurumurthy was killed in a two-wheeler accident. Following a death claim, Rs 2.5 lakh was sanctioned to the family of the teacher. The Taluk Treasury officer was demanding Rs 2,500 for issuing the cheque to the family. Gurumurthy’s son Keshava Murthy filed a complaint with the Lokaykuta, who in turn laid a trap and arrested the officer while accepting bribe.
