Two killed in separate accidents

B Kishore Kumar (7), a second standard student of Government Higher Primary School, Rayasandra, was killed on the spot when he was run over by a private bus, in Electronic City on Friday evening.

The accident took place when the school bus of Sujana Convent was heading towards Rayasandra after dropping the students at Chennakeshavanagar. The driver lost control of the speeding vehicle and knocked down the boy who was crossing the road. Kishore came under the rear wheel of the bus and was killed. The driver fled. Kishore is the son of Bhadrappa, a security guard, police said.

In another accident in Peenya on Saturday morning, a 42-year-old man was killed, when he came under the wheels of a tempo traveller at Manjunathnagar Cross on National Highway-4.

Ramachandrappa from Mallasandra in Bagalgunte was crossing the road near Navayuga toll gate to reach his office located on the other end of the road when the tempo from Nelamangala mowed him down. He sustained severe head injuries and was declared brought dead at the hospital. The police have arrested the driver.

Fake gadgets seized

Intellectual Property Rights Enforcement officers and Halasur Gate police arrested two persons for allegedly trying to sell a fake version of HP printer cartridges and seized  packed cartridges and packed toners worth Rs three lakh.

Tipped off, the team conducted raids at Gigabyte Infotech, E V Lane, S P Road and arrested its employees, Manoj Kumar (23) and Arasan (21). Owner Kamalesh is absconding. The suspects have been charged under Sections 52(A), 63, 68 (A) of the Copyright Act, 1957.

In another case, the officers along with Viveknagar police raided Milan Stationeries, Ejipura, Vivek Nagar, and a godown at Virat Nagar, Madivala, Bangalore and seized packed toners and packed ink cartridges of HP, Samsung and Canon companies worth Rs 26 lakh. They arrested Vishan (22), the owner and four employees Lalaji (23), Shyam Kumar Singh (22), Dinesh (25) and Mahesh Sagan Patel (19).

Fake currency seized

J J Nagar police arrested three persons and recovered an autorickshaw and counterfeit currency notes. Shankar Reddy (37) from Hebbal; Jagadish (49) from Begum Main Road, and Nagaraj (36) of K R Puram were arrested at Hosanagar Main Road.

Reddy from Ananthpur district in Andhra Pradesh, was workingat a hotel in Secunderabad.
He collected counterfeit currencies from a few persons in the hotel and was trying to circulate them in Bangalore with the help of other two suspects, said the police.
