ONGC shock Mohun Bagan

Less than a minute after his substitution, Kailash Patil struck back-to-back goals in the 78th and 83rd minutes to hand the Kolkatans a humiliating loss in front of their home crowd at the floodlit Yuba Bharati Krirangan.

Mohun Bagan goal came courtesy Surkurmar Singh in the third minute.This was ONGC’s third straight win as they climbed up to 11th position from 13th with 21 points from 23 matches.
Mohun Bagan remained in sixth position with 27 points after 22 matches as their. The green and maroon brigade have been struggling for form with their last win coming in a round 17 match against Viva Kerala more than a month ago.

In another match, JCT scored a 2-0 victory over Indian Arrows to move off the bottom of the table. BK Ibrahim scored the opener in the 70th minute before Sakatar Singh made the game safe in the 90th. With the win JCT moved up to 13th with 20 points from 21 matches while Indian Arrows are ninth with 23 from 22 matches.
