The City received heavy rain for the second consecutive day. On Wednesday, Yelahanka and K R Puram had received 43 mm rainfall in a short span of an hour. The isolated rainfall somewhat helped cool the weather.

On Thursday, dense clouds covered the sky at the end of a blistering afternoon and it poured soon after. The BBMP control room was flooded with complaints. According to the control room officials, at least 15 trees were uprooted in different parts of the City.

Two cars were damaged when trees fell on them near Pallavi Theatre and ESI Hospital.

Three trees came down at Indira Nagar, two at HAL second stage and one each at Old Madras Road, Old Byapppanahalli, Chikkalasandra, near Garuda Mall and BVK Iyengar Road.

Water-logging was reported near Lalbagh West Gate and some other parts of the City.

There was chock-a-block traffic following the rain. The Meteorology Department recorded 10 mm rainfall. It has predicted cloudy sky on Friday, with thundershowers at isolated places.

Four trees fell on Sai Mandira road in Someswara Layout. While two trees were cleared from the road by the traffic police, the other trees were left on the road for nearly three hours, triggering huge traffic jams. With trees falling on electricity poles, many localities in Indiranagar, Lingarajapuram and surrounding areas went without power.
