BTC meeting votes to move court

Last Updated 27 July 2009, 17:28 IST

The BTC meeting decided to hold talks with the government again and try and get the lease extended for two to three years on the Race Course Road venue before going to the court as a last resort, sources said.

The meeting, according to sources, also passed a resolution to remove P V Shetty as the chairman.

The general body directed BTC’s managing committee to hold a meeting in that regard.
The government had asked BTC to move out of its present premises once the lease expires on December 31 this year. It had also agreed to allot land at Chikkajala-Doddajala area for the Turf Club to build a new course. However, it was learnt that the government had allotted only 75 acres, and not 85 as promised earlier.
