It also re-named the bill tabled in the House in this regard by Education Minister Aravind Limbavali as Gangubai Hangal Music and Performing Arts University Bill, 2009, which the Assembly later passed without discussion.
The bill aims to systematise the study of music and performing arts in the State. The Bill was passed in the House sans debate.
