Over 100 donate blood in city

 MP Adagur H Vishwanath inaugurated the blood donation camp and called upon the public to volunteer for blood donation.

He said, “Donating blood is among the greatest contributions we are making towards the society. The donated blood can be utilised for the needy patients, accidents victims and during surgeries. Initially,  blood was sold for money.”

However, the trend has changed and public volunteer themselves for donation,he added.
He asked the individuals with rare blood groups to donate blood.  There are some rare groups which are very difficult to procure during emergencies. People with such rare groups should donate blood, he appealed.

He commended the organisers for holding the blood donation camp and said he would recommend for the inclusion of Karate in the dasara sports during Dasara celebrations this year.

Former mayor Purushotham, Shankar, Naveen Kumar, Siddaraju of Karate Association, Dr Shanthamallappa of JSS Hospital, Nagaraju, Public Relations Officer, Nestle and others were present.
