1,735 cops shifted in Bangalore

“Actually, there was no proper system in place on transfers of PCs. Many of the PCs have been serving in the same place for over 15 years, which has adversely affected their professional skills. The transfers will definitely increase their efficiency,” justified the Commissioner of Police Shankar Bidari.

There were also reports that many of the PCs had failed to perform their duties and were indulging in other activities, said Bidari.

The transfer list also includes names of some of the constables serving in Govindarajnagar Assembly constituency.

As the poll code is in force due to by-polls, the police approached the election commission and sought its permission. The Commission has directed the police to issue orders after the poll process is over, revealed Bidari.
