Jewellery worth Rs two lakh burgled

Praveen Kumar (50), a businessman, has stated in his complaint that a necklace weighing a 120 grams and other silver ornaments were among the valuables stolen.

Burglars struck at two houses in the City, making away with valuables worth Rs 2 lakh, in two separate incidents.

Gold jewellery weighing 210 grams was stolen from the residence of Mohammad Afsar, in BTM Layout second stage, MICO layout police station limits.

Police said Afsar had left for his sister’s house at around 8.15 pm and returned an hour later to discover that his house had been broken into.  Another burglary was reported in Kalyan Nagar, under Banaswadi police limits, on Saturday. Cash, jewellery and other valuables worth over Rs 1.3 lakhs were stolen from the home of Vishwanath. Vishwanath had left for Jaipur on Thursday. He found his valuables missing on his return on Saturday evening. A case has been registered.
