After reclaiming land, farmers rejoice

The farmers, especially the womenfolk, reached their fields in tractors and performed pooja there.

Some of them touched their foreheads to the ground even as tears of joy rolled down their cheeks. The offered prayers to an idol of Basavanna and offered him mandakki (puffed rice).

Farmers’ leader Y N Gowdara and Lakshman Desai, chairman of the anti-land acquisition committee and others were present on the occasion.
