NITK golden jubilee celebrations kick off on August 6

According to a press release, Minister for Higher Education Aravind Limbavali will be the chief guest. District-in-Charge Minister J Krishna Palemar, NICE Managing Director Ashok Kheny, NITK Alumni Association President K Yajnanarayana will be present. Home Minister Dr V S Acharya will preside.

Planting of saplings and golden jubilee run will be held as part of the 50th institute foundation day on the occasion. As part of the golden jubilee celebration, several academic and technical events showcasing the expertise /talents of the students and faculty and staff will also be held. 

The 24th Indian Engineering Congress, 39th ISTE convention, 32nd series KSCST student project programme will be held at NITK campus during the golden jubilee celebrations. The annual convocation of NITK during the golden jubilee year will be an extremely important event and signify a unique milestone in the glorious journey of the institute in the domain of technical education. Global convention of NITK alumni will be held during the year. International and national conferences on technical topics of contemporary relevance will be be organised by various departments of the institute.
