Katti said that the Governor will go by the Supreme Court directive and release them individually and not together.
He added that the recommended names were that of prisoners who had committed accidental and impulsive crime.
All the names that have been recommended for release were awarded a life sentence (minimum 14 years) and have all served at least half the sentence.
Meanwhile, Katti also refuted allegations of misappropriation of funds in power purchase from co-generation. Incidentally he runs a sugar factory and was part of the contractual agreement to supply co-generated power to the Government.
He said that power was sold at a higher rate to the Government on account of the expenses involved in producing power during the off-season.
