Meeting cancelled for want of quorum

There are a total of 35 members in the City Municipal Council and 24 members constitute the minimum quorum. However, only 13 members had put their signatures in the attendance register and the remaining 22 were absent.

The meeting started at 11 am on Friday when only 13 members were present and a time span of about half an hour was given for other members to attend the meeting. However, no members turned up and the Assistant Commissioner cancelled the no-confidence motion.
CMC Commissioner R S Yarrappa, Tahsildar Dakshayini and others were present.

Superintendent of Police Deva Jyothi Rai had made arrangements for tight security to avert any untoward incidents.
