INS members walk out over Katju's remarks

In the first meeting of the newly constituted PCI, four publisher members, R Lakshmipathy (Dinamalar), V K Chopra (Filmi Duniya), Sanjay Gupta (Jagran) and Vijay Kumar Chopra (Punjab Kesari), who were representing INS strongly opposed Katju’s remarks about the media.

Katju, however, was firm on his stand and refused to withdraw his remarks. Commenting on the Indian media, Katju had told a news channel “he has a poor opinion of the media” and “majority media people are of very poor intellectual level with no idea of economic theory or political science, philosophy, literature.”
