Uttarakhand Chief Minister B C Khanduri has ordered a probe by experts of IIT Roorkee and a magisterial inquiry into an incident that killed three labourers last week.
An under-construction bridge collapsed in Roorkee’s Ganga canal and the three labourers drowned on February 4.
Khanduri also went to the accident site on Monday. He asked the PWD principal secretary to file a report as well and announced an interim relief of Rs 1 lakh to the family members of the deceased. The bodies of the labourers have not been recovered yet.
