There’s a new pair on screen which is painting the town red. Young actors Harshika Poonachcha and Suriya, who star in Kavitha Lankesh’s Crazy Loka, have been on their toes promoting their movie by taking it directly to the colleges.

Teaming up for the first time on-screen, their chemistry has been the talk of the town and the two are thrilled about the response they have been getting. Speaking to Metrolife, the actors say that from the first day till now, the journey has been a ‘crazy’ one. For Suriya, a Bangalore model, this is the break he was waiting for. If working under the direction of Kavitha Lankesh was not nerve-wrecking enough, he also had to share screen space with ‘Crazy Star’ Ravichandran.

“The first two days, I was very nervous because both these people are extremely respected and talented. But after talking to them and getting to know them better, I became far more comfortable and that gave me the push to do better,” says Suriya. Harshika being far more experienced in the industry too was nervous about working with Ravichandran.

But that soon turned into excitement. “He has such an amazing energy on the sets that it’s contagious. I have learnt so much from him. This is also the first time I am working with a female director and I have never felt so much at ease before,” she adds.

Ask them about the ‘chemistry’ they share and they laugh. Harshika describes Suriya as a firecracker. “When we started shooting for this film, I couldn’t make out that he is a newcomer. He has a lot of potential,” she adds. Eagerly awaiting for the release, Suriya remembers some fun moments he shared with Harshika on the sets of the film. “We had crazy fun on the sets.

Once we actually started head-banging together for this song and it took us a while to actually stop. Another moment I can’t forget was slapping Harshika on the sets. It was for a scene and we weren’t getting it right. There were a lot of retakes and poor Harshika had to keep getting slapped by me till we got the right shot,” he laughs.

The two actors feel that Crazy Loka will be a complete paisa vasool since it’s youth-oriented. “It’s an out-and-out entertainer and I am sure no one will leave the cinema hall in disappointment,” sums up Harshika. Crazy Loka is scheduled to release later this month.
