School appeals to CM

Last Updated 14 February 2012, 20:00 IST

The Clarence School has sought intervention of Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda in its efforts for restoration of its playground on Wheeler’s Road.

The school management submitted a memor andum to the chief minister on Monday. “The chief minister has promised to look into the issue soon. He is in favour of restoring the ground to children,” said a member of the management committee. The members alleged that people in power nurse a grudge against the school for not favouring them during the admissions to the institution.

The BBMP recently decided to take back the land given to the school for sports purposes. While the Palike has accused the school of not letting the public use its space, the school has contended that the terms and conditions of lease do not provide for it.
