The four-day twin exhibitions of Travel-tourism and food processing-hospitality organised by Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry concludes on Monday.

The states of Chhattisgarh, Gujarat, Karnataka, Puducherry and Madhya Pradesh with grand stalls are taking part in travel and tourism section.

The Food processing and Hospitality section has close to 160 stalls of food processing and hospitality. Despite a couple of tourism expos held recently, the response from the people to the travel and tourism stalls is good.

Nadaf Appasaheb, who manages the Karnataka Tourism stall, said every time a tourism expo takes place, there is a crowd that is new to the city and has not attended previous ones. Also, most packages are cheaper than those provided by private travel companies which ensures good business, he added.

Food processing

Clubbing food processing and tourism industries was not an idea the organisers had initially planned. It was done to overcome financial constraints.

However, the coming year will find food processing and hospitality as a separate event.

Cyril Pereira, Managing Director, Triune Exhibitors, the organisers, said that next year tourism and food processing expos will be conducted separately.
