Addressing a press conference in Bangalore, Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Assembly Siddaramaiah and Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council V S Ugrappa alleged that the Government was hoodwinking the people by focusing on rural development and agriculture.

“During the last session, Chief Minister Yeddyurappa promised that a special session would be convened on scams. Today, the Government is running away from the promise and harping on agriculture and rural development which have been debated for long,” Siddaramaiah charged.

Both the leaders demanded that the special session be extended for 21 days, so that all issues of State concern are discussed threadbare.
The State was facing drought, drinking water and power shortage and the number of people succumbing to H1N1 influenza, dengue and chikungunya, was increasing by the day.
However, the Government had turned a blind eye to the sufferings of the people.
