Jewel thief arrested by police

The accused has been identified as Raviteja, a resident of Chandapura in Anekal taluk. He hails from Madanapalli in Andhra Pradesh.

According to the police, Raviteja went to Dhanalakshmi Jewellers on Katriguppe Road.
He requested a boy to show him a gold chain. He took the gold chain and pretended as if he was examining. He slowly went towards door holding the chain and suddenly started running away. The shop boys started crying for help and chased him.
A few people on the road noticed it and managed to catch him with the help of traffic police. He is involved in several such incidents in the City, added the police.
