Norwegian commits suicide in hotel room, sleeping pills found

A 21-year-old Indian-origin Norwegian was found dead under mysterious circumstances on Thursday in a room in Hotel Roma Deluxe under Nabi Karim police station in the city.

Wellingtono Raffelo committed suicide after bolting the door, said Delhi Police. They said he had dropped in the hotel at 4:30 am on Wednesday and was spotted around the hotel late evening on Wednesday.

“Around 8:30 pm on Wednesday, he was spotted in the hotel. However, he didn’t open his door  the following morning. Hotel authorities informed Nabi Karim police station soon after the incident. Police later found his body lying on the bed. Some medicines, including sleeping tablets and injections, were recovered from the room,” said a spokesman of Delhi Police.

Police informed that Raffelo’s father Akshay Garav stayed in Vasant Kunj area.

The family, police said, was informed about the death and the body was sent for post-mortem. Preliminary investigations revealed that he was student in Norway. No suicide note was found in his possession.
