H1N1: Six more succumb in State

Two deaths in the City were reported at Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Chest Diseases (RGICD).  Dr Shashidhar Buggi, director of the Institute said that 20-year-old pregnant woman succumbed to the flu as she had arrived at a very critical stage.  "The pregnant woman was 36 weeks into pregnancy and was to deliver shortly, but due to late admission, she expired," he said. 

Late admission
He added that another 40-year-old woman also succumbed at RGICD due to late admission, but her reports were missing in the Health department update on Thursday.
A 13-year-old boy admitted to a private hospital on August 22 succumbed on September 8, while 59-year-old man admitted on September 3 expired on September 5 in a private hospital in the City.

Eleven-month-old boy succumbed at a private hospital in Davangere, the baby boy was admitted on August 26 and expired on September 8.
One person died in Bijapur, taking the district’s toll to four. Shivaling Savalagi (40) of  Babaleshwar,  who was admitted  to  Hospital on September 1, died on September 6. He did not respond to the treatment given. The swab tested positive for H1N1.
So far, 11 persons have tested positive for H1N1 in Bijapur. Seven of them responded to treatment, and have recovered.

 32 fresh cases
Meanwhile 32 fresh cases tested positive for H1N1 Influenza out of which 25 were reported in Bangalore, 3 in Bijapur, one each in Bidar, Davangere, Bellary and Mysore.  Till date 686 persons have tested positive for Flu in the State.
