Woman murdered in broad daylight

 A woman was murdered in broad day light near Guthigar in Sullia on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Vedavathi (45), police said.
The miscreants have fled the spot with jewels after committing the crime. The incident occurred when she was alone at house. Her husband Jayaram had been to a function.
A case has been registered.

Found dead

The decomposed body of a woman was found in her house at Kolya in Ullal police station limits on Sunday.

Pushpavathi Jathanna (73) was residing alone at her house. Her son and two daughters were residing at Honnavar. One of her grandsons was trying to contact her for the past two days. As she was not available on phone, he arrived at Kolya on Sunday and found her decomposed body.

It is suspected that she must have died of cardiac arrest, the police said.
A case has been registered.

 Man killed in mishap

A man was killed and another suffered injuries in a head-on collision between two bikes on the national highway at Ramalkatte near Brahmarakootlu in Bantwal taluk on Sunday.
According to police, the deceased has been identified as Hussain (75) of Ramalkatte. His son Khader and Thumbay resident Ibrahim have sustained injuries.

Hussain is a retired staffer at Thumbay pumphouse and was travelling in the two-wheeler of his son to attend a marriage when the accident occurred.

Electrocuted

 A labourer from Jharkhand was electrocuted at Kallare in Puttur on Saturday night.
Vijay (23) was working in a poultry farm at Kallare. He was electrocuted while changing the plug of the inverter. A case has been registered.

Youth dies in accident

A youth died due to severe injuries he sustained after his motorbike skidded and hit the divider on K G Road in Brahmavar in Udupi on Sunday.

Abhiram Acharya, 28, from Uppur in Brahmavar is the deceased.
 He was plying towards Udupi when the accident occurred on Saturday. He died at a hospital.

A case has been registered in Barhmavar police station.

Falls to death

A man died after he fell down from his motorbike following an attack by a wild buffalo on National Highway 66 at Masthikatte Junction in Kollur on Sunday.

Bhaskar Ganiga, 52, was on his way back home when the incident occurred on Saturday. He succumbed to injuries on Sunday.

A case has been registered in Kollur police station in this regard.
