Police commissioner K L Sudheer announced that 10 cycles would be distributed to each police station in the city.

He was speaking at the inauguration of health check-up camp for K R Police Sub-division organised jointly by Rotary North and Apollo BGS Hospital at Vijaya Vitthala School here on Sunday.

Sudheer said using cycles would improve health of police personnel and also help them interact with the public. Each police station is being provided 10 cycles and the first six cycles have been given to Saraswathipuram police station.

As police personnel are constantly working under pressure, exercise and diet would help them be healthy. If they give examples of being busy and shirk away from exercise, then it will help them in the long run, he added.

More than 20 police officers donated blood at the health check-up camp. Saraswathipuram sub-inspector Thimmaraju and 35 others registered their name for donating their eyes.

More than 100 police personnel of K R Police Sub-division participated in the health check-up camp.

Rotary Mysore North president M Ratnaraj, secretary Y R Manjunath, community service director D B Rajashekarmurthy, cardiologist Dr H S Somanath, deputy commissioner of police (crime and traffic) K P Bheemaiah, Saraswathipuram police inspector Chandrashekar and others were present.
