Employees of the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRT) have decided to go on an indefinite strike from September 13, urging for fulfilment of their various demands.
The government’s apathy towards their problems has forced them to resort to the protest, said B Jayadevaraje Urs, the convener of the joint committee of various unions.
The unions said that when they threatened to go on strike from April 27 this year, the government made false promise that it would address their grievances sympathetically.
There is no dialogue between the employees and the management since 1996 and the employees are given very meagre hike every year, which is far less than the profit the corporation earns every year.
