Woman kills son, hangs self

A woman was found hanging  and her son lying dead on the floor at their Agrahara Layout residence in Sampigehalli on Tuesday.

The dead have been identified as Premalatha, 28, and her two-year-old son, Chaitresh. The tragedy came to light when her husband Satish came home from work in the evening. He grew suspicious as Premalatha did not answer his calls and the door was locked from inside.
He broke open the door to find his wife hanging from the roof and Chaitresh on the floor. He alerted the police, who shifted the bodies to Dr B R Ambedkar Medical College.

The couple hail from Puttur in Dakshina Kannada district and were married for five years. Satish works as a supervisor in a garments factory in Amrutahalli. Sources said the couple quarrelled Tuesday noon when Satish came for lunch. When he returned in the evening, Premalatha had strangled her son and later hanged herself, the police said.

Police said Premalatha has left behind a death note claiming responsibility for her death and asking them not to harass her husband.
