Cisco, Bharti Airtel form alliance

The products and services offered by this alliance will incorporate Cisco technology with Airtel newtwork to target the growing Indian market. The companies will jointly develop or co-create unique products for Indian enterprises including the SMB segment.  The alliance will offer four major product portfolio comprising managed data service, hosted unified communications, connected branch services and Cisco telepresence. A dedicated team under leadership of Bharti Airtel Senior Vice-President Sanjay Mittal and experts from both the companies has been formed.

“With this alliance we will expand our market coverage and simplify purchase process of our mutual customers by facilitating joint sales, partners, planning and customer engagement,” Bharati Airtel Chief Executive Officer Manoj Kohili told reporters here. “With the new relationship, we will be better equipped to meet the demands of customer, rather than just providing generic services or products,” Cisco Services Chief Globalisation Officer & Executive Vice-President Wim Elfrink said. Airtel President Enterprises Services David Nishball said the firms intend to create a transformation in managed services in India, as also offer services much faster while avoiding technology obsolescence. The products, he said, will be launched in a phased manner within next 12 months, and that the first range of product will be available by October-end.
