Descendents of the Nizams are embroiled in yet another property dispute, with a scramble for assets worth several crores and the Chiran palace gaining momentum.

Niloufer, the youngest daughter of Mukarram Jah, the grandson of the last Nizam of Hyderabad, arrived here from Istanbul with her mother Manolya Onur, Jah’s third wife whom he had divorced, to stake claim for the property. The Chiran palace is valued at $3 million.

Mukarram’s estate includes the famous Taj Falaknuma palace and the Chowmahalla fort. Niloufer has claimed property worth Rs 2,000 crore.

Niloufer said she will move court seeking her share in her father’s property in Hyderabad. Her father, the 79-year-old Nizam, is in London at present.

“My father’s first wife, princess Esra, is trying to usurp all his property, including my share of the Chiran palace. Esra is not allowing me to see my ailing father,” Niloufer said.
