Disco era back with sequin dresses

Can’t think of anything trendy to wear for your party this weekend? Go for a sequin dress that can really match your party mood and also u ur style quotient. Sequined dresses are shiny, sparkly and very glamorous and give you an edge over everybody else. They can make you look like a star and the centre of attraction at a party.

While wearing a sequined dress keep the line and drape simple. Too much volume can make you look over the top. Another point to keep in mind is to keep it in a single shade. Metallic or deep colours like gold, silver, bronze and black work best in sequin dresses. Amit Talwar Treekaya, a fashion designer, says, “Sequin dresses are all about bling. It is a great way to be fashionable for a party. The disco era is back with sequined dresses. Any body type can go for it depending on the cut and colour. Black, golden, copper are the best colours in sequins.”

Sequined dresses can be worn anywhere, whether you are heading to a glamorous party or for a casual day out, it can add shimmer to your personality and makes for an instant glamorous makeover. But, do keep in mind that sequins are bold pieces and so remember to go minimal on accessories and makeup, if you want to make an impact.

Another fashion designer Gautam Gupta too seconds Amit. “Sequin dresses are classic pieces in bling form. They gel with everything, be it Indian or western. They are light weight and give you the instant party look. Sequins can be found in two types, rainbow and regular ones. They don’t add weight to any fabric but add that oomph factor and that is why they are becoming so popular.”

Although, sequined dresses and gowns are traditionally worn as evening wear, they can create a day outfit too if you pair it with minimum accessories. Keep the eye and lip make-up minimal too, as you would want the focus on your dress and not on your make-up. One can further team your outfit with a single neckpiece and thin silver or metal bangles in one hand.
