Four from Bangalore killed in road accident

 Four persons died on the spot after the multi-utility vehicle in which they were travelling hit a road divider and a KSRTC bus at T M Hosur Gate near Srirangapatna on Sunday.

According to the police, the dead are Mohmmad Nazeem, 24, and Mohmmad Rahmatullah, 36, sons of Mohmmad Azgar Ali Khandekar, a native of West Bengal, who had shifted to Bangalore a couple of years ago and is engaged in jewellery polishing on Avenue Road in Bangalore.

His close relative Gulam Rasool Mandal, 46, and his son Mohmmad Nayeem Ali Khan, 21, are the other two deceased.

While Rasool Mandal, Mohmmad Nazeem and Mohmmad Rahmatullah died on the spot, Nayeem Ali Khan died on the way to hospital. Azgar Ali Khandekar, his children Naseem Ali, Abdul Sattar, Mohmmad Taseem and Sameena Begum have been shifted to a private hospital in Mysore, while the MUV driver Mahesh is being treated at the General Hospital in Mandya.

The police said Mohmmad Azgar Ali Khandekar and his family members and relatives were on a trip to Mysore in a hired vehicle, when the driver lost control over the vehicle while driving on a slope.

According to eye-witnesses, the vehicle, after hitting the divider, was thrown up 15 ft high in the air and tumbled at least six times, before hitting the bus.
Senior police officials visited the spot and a case has been registered at the town police station.
