The registration process for this year’s annual Amarnath yatra will begin from March 18 through 422 designated branches of Jammu and Kashmir Bank, State Bank of India, Punjab National Bank, YES Bank and HDFC Bank spread all over the country.

CEO of Shri Amarnath Shrine Board (SASB) Navin K Choudhary said the 55-day yatra shall commence simultaneously on both Baltal and Chandanwari routes from June 28 and culminate on August 21 which also happens to be Raksha Bandhan.

He said step-by-step procedure that pilgrims need to follow to register for the yatra has been put on SASB’s website, www.shriamarnathjishrine.com. The website also contains the application form and state-wise list of bank branches with complete addresses which the yatris can use for registering themselves for this year’s pilgrimage.

The CEO said the applicants will have to furnish compulsory health certificate while seeking registration. The format for this certificate and state-wise list of doctors/institutes authorised to issue it have also been put on the website.

To ensure safeguard against fraudulent health certificates, only those certificates which are issued by doctors or medical institutes authorised by the concerned state government will be accepted at the registration bank branches, he said.
