'Work for the empowerment of women'

Legislature should work towards the empowerment of women, said Mahilodaya Mahila Okkuta coordinator Sunithi.

Speaking at International Women’s Day, organised by the Mahilodaya Mahila Okkuta, Sarvajyothi and Spoorthi Centres in Kushalnagar, she said the laws have become strong. However, Legislature and executives have failed in implementing the laws. 

Mullusoge GP president Shivananda said that there was a need to work towards gender equality. Advocate Robin spoke on prevention of atrocities act.
