Two children died due to fever at Kudlur village in Tarikere on Saturday.
The deceased are Nisha (7) and Sonu (6). While Nisha is confirmed to have died of dengue, the cause of Sonu’s death is yet to be ascertained, according to Taluk Medical Officer Chandrashekar.
Both children had undergone treatment at Birur and Shimoga hospital.
Meanwhile, a girl aged 15 from Davangere succumbed to dengue fever at KMC Hospital in Manipal on Friday.
District Health Officer (DHO) Dr Ramachandra Bairy told Deccan Herald that the girl was admitted to KMC on May 25. To a query, he said that 48 cases of dengue have been reported in the district from January to May 31.
