‘Ramakatha Vismaya’

‘Nrityakala Mela’

Natyapriya will present its 35th anniversary celebrations Nrityakala Mela at Nrithyakshetra, the cultural performing art centre at Hoyasala Nagar, East Bangalore on November 22 at 4 pm.

Acting workshop

Orange Sky Productions is conducting its 11th workshop batch on acting, for both film and theatre. The programme will focus on Method Acting, along with physical preparation
for performing a role.

Film screening

Goethe-Institut/Max Mueller Bhavan is hosting an event to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall. The video installation November Days: Live TV Coverage will be held till November 19, 9 am to 6.30 pm.

The Children’s Day celebrations, Bal Utsav, is going to be held on November 14 between 3 pm and 6.30 pm at the Art of Living International Centre, Kanakapura Main Road.

Contest time

Make Your Own Amar Chitra Katha Junior Contest will be held on November 14 and 15 from 5.30 pm onwards, at the Odyssey store. This is open to kids between the age group of 8 and12 years.


Play time

All Thieves, a play based on the short stories by Calvinho, Murakami, Mohan Rakesh and Kamtanath Motley, will be staged at the Ranga Shankara on November 12. Project S.T.R.I.P by Ram Ganesh Kamatham will be staged on November 13.

The timings are 2.30 pm and 7.30 pm for both the events.


Young notes

On November 14, 6.30 pm at the Alliance Francaise, young artistes of the Bangalore School of Music will come together on the concert platform and celebrate the day with their musical talents. On the programme are two String Quartets —  a wide repertoire of music as Haidel, Mozart and Brahms and old favourites as Bacarolles and Dances. The evening will end with warm glowing melodies of yesteryears, on golden instruments played by 30 young talented musicians, conducted by maestro V Narayanaswamy. For details, call 23536090.

Ananya is presenting Kalotsava 2009, featuring young artists, who will present compositions of composers from Karnataka. Legendary singer Manna Dey will perform live on November 13, 7 pm at the Dr B R Ambedkar Bhavan, Miller’s Road. A silver coin engraved with a portrait of Manna Dey will be released at the concert, along with limited editions of an audio CD with 15 of Manna Dey’s biggest hits selected personally by him. Limited tickets priced at Rs 500 and Rs 250 will be available at KC Das on Church Street, Calypso in Jayanagar and World of Titan showrooms at Koramangala, Indiranagar and Malleswaram.
