One of the Samajwadi Party’s legislators allegedly threatened to kill a senior officer as he refused to award lucrative contracts to the neta’s goons, causing huge embarrassment to party leadership.

The officer has asked Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav to transfer him fearing threat to his life.

Reports said the SP MLA from Azamgarh district Abhai Narain Patel was sore with the officer for not awarding contracts to his men on his direction.

He allegedly told the officer that he would get him killed and also dispose his body at a place from where it could never be recovered.

“Mere admiyon ko theka nahin diya. Tumhe maar diya jayga aur tumhari laash thikane laga di jayegi” (you did not give contracts to my men. You will be killed and your body will be disposed of), the MLA allegedly told the officer.

“I cannot now live here. I want to be transferred elsewhere or I will be killed,” the terrified officer said in his letters to the chief minister and senior police officers.

Irregularities

However, Patel rubbished the allegations and said he had complained against the officer after some irregularities had been unearthed in awarding contracts.

“The allegations are aimed at deflecting the corruption charges,” Patel said.

Embarrassment

Earlier also, the SP leaders had caused embarrassment to their party and leadership by their acts.

Recently three sons of the SP MLA from Sitapur Radhey Shyam Jaiswal opened fire at a family after they resisted their attempt to grab their land. One person was injured in the
firing.

A couple of days ago, an SP legislator’s sons had demolished an under construction house of a doctor after he reportedly refused to heed their extortion demand.

Earlier, the SP legislator from Ambedkar Nagar district Azeemul Haq alias ‘pehlwan’ had raided the house of a policeman inside the Kotwali police station premises and terrorised him. The MLA was angry with him for releasing a truck against his wishes.
