In an embarrassment to former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa, the State BJP top brass on Wednesday declined to reinduct some of his followers, stating it was for the central leadership to take a decision on the issue.

M D Lakshminarayana, a one-time supporter of Yeddyurappa, accused him of betraying them. On Wednesday, Yeddyurappa invited Lakshminarayana, Dhananjay Kumar and others to his residence for talks. The meeting later took place at the party office.

Yeddyurappa is said to have demanded that Kumar, Lehar Singh and G S Basavaraj be reinducted into the BJP. However, BJP leaders told him that it was outside their purview to take such a decision as the trio had openly spoken against seniors such as L K Advani. They advised Yeddyurappa to take up the issue with central leadership, sources said.
