Last Updated 13 April 2014, 17:39 IST

The BJP on Sunday filed a complaint against Independent candidate Pramod Muthalik on the grounds that he has made false propaganda against BJP’s candidate for Bangalore South H N Ananth Kumar.

Muthalik had released a book ‘Ananthana Avanthara’ that has details about alleged scams and irregularities connected to the BJP candidate.  Muthalik said Ananth Kumar along with corporate lobbyist Niira Radia was involved in a Rs 5,000-crore scam and a petition is pending before the Supreme Court in this regard.

He said, the book also has details about the Rs 14,000-crore Hudco scam. Muthalik said he has compiled all the irregularities committed by Ananth Kumar in a book and is distributing it to people.

Narahari Phadke, a close aide of Ananth Kumar, has filed the complaint with the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) and alleged that Muthalik is having malafide intentions and is making personal attacks in violation of model code of conduct against the BJP candidate.

The BJP has asked the CEO to take suitable action against Muthalik and restrain him from making malicious comments.

Chief Electoral Officer Anil Kumar Jha said a copy of the book has been sent to the Police Commissioner for investigation. “If the book contains any personal allegations, then suitable action will be taken,” he added.
