Elsewhere in the City, stories poured out about flooded houses, collapsed storm water drains and overflowing manholes.

Security guard Venkateshwaralu (65),  a resident of Ramakrishna Mutt Road, on his way home on his bike on Thursday night rode straight into the drain.

He was sucked into the drain and body was later traced near St Aloysius College in Cox Town.

Three major storm water drains at JP Nagar, Jayanagar and Tank Bund Road collapsed on Friday. Residents of Krishnamurthy Nagar, Sudhama Nagar, Dollars Colony, Venkat Reddy Nagar and Dayananda Nagar spent the whole night draining the water that flooded their homes.

Jayamma of Dayananda Nagar said, the manholes in our area were overflowing.
On Friday, the residents were throwing out the silt with spades from their houses. Despite calling the BBMP control room, no one turned up till afternoon.

BWSSB officials said the underground drains (UGDs) are functioning as storm water drains while the UGDs do not have the capacity to drain out rain water as well.
