Fashion designer hangs herself over failed affair

A fashion designer allegedly hanged herself at her flat on CMH Road in Indiranagar on Friday night. 

Abhijitha, 35, who hailed from Chennai, said in a reported death note that her boyfriend Rohit Jain, a hotelier, had cheated on her and hence she was taking her life.

The deceased had recently purchased a flat in the City and would stay there whenever she visited Bangalore, police said. She arrived in the City four days ago and stayed in the flat ever since. Police have booked Jain for abetment to suicide.

Malayalam producer held

A Malayalam film producer has been detained by the Jeevanbeema Nagar police on the charge of cheating several people of lakhs of rupees.

Sadanandan Rangorath, who ran a production company, Lucsam Creations, had allegedly taken money from people by leasing them flats owned by others.

He frequently visited the City and is suspected to be involved in cheating, police said and added that Rangorath was detained on Saturday for questioning.
