Confusion over option entry for second round of seat counselling for CET prevailed on Friday too with some students complaining to Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) officials that they were not able to enter the seat options they wanted.

The students were requesting KEA to allow them another chance for option entry, KEA Director Rame Gowda said.

However, it could not be allowed as the students were asking the officials to allow them to enter lower seat options again, he specified.

For instance, if a candidate has entered 10 options in the previous round and has been allotted a particular seat that was his seventh option, in case he rejects that seat and participates in the next round for a better seat, he will be allowed to choose seats only until his sixth option.

The candidate will get a seat in the next round only if the higher option seats are available, KEA officials clarified.

However, with some students having not understood the process, confusion prevailed.

The option entry for second round of counselling will remain open till 5 pm on July 5, 2014. Meanwhile, the second day of Comedk UGET 2014 medical and dental counselling was conducted on Friday.

A total of 2,250 candidates were scheduled for second day.

The number of seats allotted on the second day were 8 medical seats and 150 dental seats.

All the general merit medical seats were taken while 33 Tulu minority and 74 Christian minority seats in addition to 89 H-K region seats were remaining in medical stream.

The first round counselling for Comedk medical and dental streams will be conducted till July 5, 2015.
