Woman, son end lives

A woman and her son committed suicide by consuming poison in Ashok Nagar police limits on Friday. 

The victims Vidya, 48, a homemaker, and Christopher, 25, pursuing MBA in a private college, were residents of BDA Complex, Austin Town. 

The two had mixed poison in fruit juice and consumed it. Vidya had slipped into depression after her husband James had died of cardiac arrest on August 11.

A relative, who visited them, on getting no response, broke open the door with neighbours’ help and noticed Vidya and Christopher lying unconscious. 

They were taken to a nearby hospital where they died, the police said. In their death note, they had stated that nobody was responsible for their death.
